Job Description:

Seeking an IT HELP DESK SPECIALIST provides support for users of personal computer workstations, printers, peripheral devices, and software applications. Must have an Associate's degree in Information Technology or closely related field including coursework in personal computer applications and uses, plus two years of professional computer experience, OR any combination of training and experience equivalent to a high school education and four years professional computer experience. Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation. Must have current Montana driver's license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment. Microsoft and/or Cisco certifications preferred. Assist end-users in the resolution of computer, electronic devices and phone system hardware and software problems; coordinate and/or perform repairs at the desktop level; monitor and test repairs to ensure problems are resolved; identify, recommend, develop, and implement end-user training programs; keep immediate supervisor and designated others accurately informed concerning work progress, including present and potential work problems; provide suggestions for new or improved ways of addressing problems. Determine the most effective manner to resolve technical issues; conduct research and in-depth troubleshooting to resolve technical issues; consult with other IT staff when necessary; record required customer and problem information in the Call Ticket System; update tickets with appropriate entries of activities; enter completion of the job and close tickets; perform other duties as assigned. //JH
